‘Action!’ – using new media to improve outcomes for young people
Brief description:
PMA is in the process of developing and delivering 4 exciting projects as part of a new suicide prevention partnership in collaboration with North Glasgow CHCP.
By producing a series of short films based on supporting friends, accessing services and coping with emotional distress, this innovative new project utilises film and new media technology to engage young people in issues around the prevention of suicide.
Aims:
To creatively use film and new media, as apposed to traditional campaigns, to effectively engage young people in thinking and talking about issues around suicide prevention.
What’s happening:
Diversity Films have been commissioned to work on this project with direct input from local young people.
Evaluation and feedback:
This work will be evaluated in partnership with Health Scotland, with a report available upon completion in 2011.
