Later Life
Mental health is a hugely taboo subject for older people, considering many are faced with barriers such as ageism, social isolation, and a lack of services.
The stigma attached to mental health problems can have a terrible impact in older communities and research shows peer group support is one of the key elements in challenging stigma and improving understanding in such groups.
We have developed an unique Later Life programme to improve older people’s mental health through a peer led initiative to increase awareness and reduce stigma in their communities.

What we do:
We work directly with older people to help them deliver mental health awareness workshops and drama groups to their peers and to develop tailor-made projects, ensuring the needs of this group are fully considered.
