Many people who have experienced mental health problems have made fantastic creative contributions to our society in the arts, film and media and also in the fields of politics, sport and academia. People with experience of mental health problems also find that creative activities offer an avenue for self expression and skill development as well as an opportunity to meet others with similar interests. What we do: Our dynamic arts programme features drama, creative writing and visual art groups in East Glasgow; offering people who’ve experienced mental health problems the chance to communicate via the arts to get their message across creatively, whilst also promoting recovery. Our continually evolving arts programme provides people with the opportunity to polish their artistic skills and get involved in engaging performances, or have work published or exhibited in public. Exciting partnerships with arts venue Platform, based at the award-winning Bridge in Easterhouse, led to ‘Headspace’ an annual event for mental health week and part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival.
